I Love to Laugh

I love to laugh. Don’t you?

Having a young dog has upped my laughter quotient exponentially in the past year. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Daisy is the happiest being I have ever known. She is happy from sunrise to sunset.

When I come downstairs in the morning to open her crate, her tail wags and she takes a long stretch before jumping up on my leg (her paws land just above my knee). She gazes with happy greeting up into my eyes.

What a wonderful way to start my day!

When Daisy and I are out for our morning walk and someone is approaching, even if they are down the block and across the street, her tail starts to wag and she gently pulls me in their direction. Meeting someone new, to her is pure delight and I delight in her delight.

I find laughter when I’m texting on my IPhone after auto correct steps in with an ridiculous correction for one of my misspellings.

I carry laughter into my work with clients. There are moments during almost every session when we laugh together about the absurd situations in their lives. Laughter breaks the hold of the seriousness and helps to lighten their perspective.

My father was often a rather serious guy but he had a host of jokes that he shared generously. They were always told in good taste and he never forgot a punch line. Half the fun was listening to my serious dad laugh after each telling.

Recently when wading through the spam that accompanies your much appreciated comments on my blog, I found one that really tickled me. Spam said (and I know for certain that it was spam because of it’s return address), “I am also commenting to make you know of the awesome encounter my cousin’s princess went through studying your web site. She learned such a lot of things, which include what it’s like to have a wonderful coaching heart to make other people without difficulty, gain knowledge of some very confusing subject areas. You really did more than people’s desires. I appreciate you for supplying the useful, trustworthy, informative, not to mention, cool tips about your topic to Mary.”

Wasn’t that funny and sort of sweet too. Thank you, Spam.

It’s easy to take life way too seriously and laughter is the perfect antidote.

You can find laughter in the presence of children or young animals. You can find it in the company of good friends, with strangers on the street or even on your IPhone.

How will you welcome laughter into your life today!

Let’s share the “laughter love” on the comments on my Facebook Page, “Welcome Home”.
