Bring Your Whole Self

I perform a ritual each time I prepare for a session with a client.

Whether I’m meeting with a couple who are engaged to be married, or one-on-one with someone in my Sacred Life program, or even when I’m meeting someone for the first time for a Get Acquainted telephone session to see if we’re a good fit, I always perform a ritual in preparation.

First, I light a candle at my altar and sit in the quiet. Sometimes I burn some sage or cedar. The aroma calms my mind. I breathe in deeply until I connect with a clear and quiet place within myself.

Even now as I write this, I can feel myself connect to that place.

Then, I ask for assistance from Love/Spirit. Finally, after I feel a sense of readiness, which can take a few seconds or a few minutes, I blow out the candle and make my way to my session.

There is power in creating a simple centering ritual. Once you have performed it time after time you’ll be able to rely on it.

I know with absolute certainty that I can depend on my ritual of preparation to support me in finding a grounded place so that I am present in my work.

Bring your whole self to what you do. A few moments of quiet in the middle of a busy day can make all the difference.
