Windows Wide Open

As I left home to go on a trip earlier this week, I gave the peonies in my garden one last sniff. I adore my peonies and this spring I’ve been making it a practice to pay attention to each and every one of them as they bloom.

I have three different kinds of peonies, white ones with red slices of colour in the center, deep red ones with a bright yellow center and soft pink puffy ones. Don’t ask me to choose a favourite. I love each one!

But, if you asked me to choose a favourite season, that’s a different matter. Summer would win hands down.

Summer, to me is like arriving home after a long journey through the endless cold of late autumn, winter and early spring.

I never take summer for granted. I can’t get enough of that feeling that includes the sound “ahhhh”.

Today my windows have been wide open. I can feel a gentle breeze wafting in. This warm summer air is intoxicating.

Are your windows wide open? Whether literally or figuratively, are you inviting the summer into your home and into your life?

Summer is a time of expansion. It’s a time to receive, rejuvenate and relax.

Do you remember the practice I created for you called “This is Summer!”?

Now is the time! Don’t delay.
