Nature

This week I am canoeing and camping in the wilds of Algonquin Park in southern Ontario.

As you read this I imagine I will be delighting in the loons

and bowing to the moon.

I will be touching the soft green moss on the warm rocks

admiring the morning dew covered webs of the spiders,

oohing and ahhing at the sight of the lily pads

and enjoying many long lazy hours with my sweetheart.

I will be spending the week filling myself up by being in the presence of nature.

What is it that brings you nourishment?

    Jovanna,

I love Algonquin Park! We went last year and it was so beautiful. I hiked for hours and soaked in the trail, the wildlife and the water.

I’ve also been to Kilarney Park and spent many days hiking those trails around the Georgian Bay. I came home to myself during those two weeks and completely embraced Summer! The memories linger now even 6 years later.

I live in the Southern US where Summer and I don’t get along very well. I’m a northern girl at heart and have never quite acclimated to the harsh and endless sunshine, heat and humidity that makes this area so rich with a completely different ecosystem than I grew up with. I’m actually ill much of the season, which lasts through September. However, I do appreciate the difference and the wonders that it brings to so many. I get outside again in October and drink in the colors and smells of Autumn.

Thank you for reminding me to be grateful for that which provides for me and my family here and now. This IS Summer. : )

    Cheerfully,
    Sam
