Choose Your Life

This week when I was traveling, I had the good fortune of passing through the corridor between Concourse B and C in Terminal 1 at Chicago’s O’Hare airport. As I descended the stairs I was greeted by an unexpected show of light. Entitled “Sky’s the Limit”, this is reported to be the world’s largest light sculpture. It is composed of 466 neon tubes that if placed end to end would be a mile long. It stretches the entire length of the ceiling over the two moving walkways and has white on both ends with undulating rainbow colours in between. Operated by 3 computers, it cycles through the colours and apparently never repeats a pattern.

I took some time out in the corridor to absorb the beauty of the lights and to observe the other traveler’s response to the lights. I couldn’t contain my enthusiasm in this short video I made for you.

Take some time today to stop and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you and let yourself be filled with love.

Where did you find unexpected inspiration today? Post a comment! I would love to hear from you and others would benefit from your words.

Love your posts as always Jovanna! You were such a great inspiration to me and a huge help when did an entire house purge. I learned so many valuable lessons during our time working together. Worth every penny!! I would have to say my inspiration today came when I stumbled upon a thrift shop. I love to shop for antiques and second hand items to give them new life. When I entered I looked around at all of the people benefiting from the great service this shop was offering. All of the items were neatly hung up and arranged by size, the glasswares/trinkets were organized by colours and displayed nicely on the shelves. Had they been mixed together they might not have had the same appeal or presentation, but all of these treasures were once considered someones junk. It completely made me think of how often in life we will toss aside one of our own talents simply because we just haven’t had the time to organize it into a section of our life. When I am purging out old items, sometimes I think of them fondly and let them go because I no longer receive enjoyment from their display. Other times I find an item I had long ago purchased with excitement and forgotten, with a little polish and a new space in the home where I can enjoy it instead of “saving” it for a special occasion. Everyday should be a special occasion to display our best in our homes. 🙂

Thank you for your comment about our work together, Crystal. As you know, you were a joy to work with! I loved reading your description of the thrift shop you stumbled upon. And what a keen observation about tossing away our own talents. It’s so easy to do that when our lives are cluttered. I just took a look at your blog. I am wowed by the artistry in your cakes!!

Thanks for your article Jovanna! This morning as a looked around my yard I became inspired by the weeds in my garden. Although I have been battling to pull them all out over the weekend, I have to admire the persistence and ability to survive. I guess all forms of life are beautiful and present a lesson to be learned.

Will I still pull them all out? Yes, but I will have more appreciation and be less frustrated when I do so. Thanks again for your reminder to find inspiration all around you because if you put your mind to it is sure is easy to find!

I love your insight, Sarah. More appreciation and less frustration! A shift in perspective after being inspired by the weeds. How wonderful is that?!
