Welcome Spring

Yesterday morning, I was dazzled by nature. When I stepped outside the back door my eyes were drawn up to a brilliant blue sky that held the most beautiful white clouds.

The quality of the air was cool and moist and I felt immediately revived from my sleep.

Revived from sleep…we’re all ready for that this time of year in southern Ontario. The winter has been mild this year but it’s gone on for many months.

Now, as the Equinox approaches there are sure signs of spring. Snowdrop flowers are pressing through the earth, robin song is calling and the rain has returned.

Today, as I write there are huge snowflakes falling but I am not discouraged by them. This is their last hoorah and I know with all certainty that the warmth of the sun is returning and the soil is beginning to warm preparing the way for the blossom of spring.

On the Spring Equinox, Sunday March 20th , I encourage you to begin your day by lighting a candle or looking out your window or stepping outside your door to offer a heartfelt welcome to always long awaited and deeply appreciated spring.
