Living in Your Light

I greet my Get Acquainted phone conversations with anticipation and excitement. When my potential clients fill out a few questions to prepare for our first call, they offer honest answers and let me in on some very personal joys and challenges in their lives. They willingly show themselves to me through their words.

Before we’ve even met, I begin my work as a mentor. I hold them in their light and I see them moving steadily toward their dreams.

It’s easy for me to believe in my clients, to see them uncluttered by their insecurities, uninhibited by the things that seem to block their way. Those aspects are present but I see them as healthy and whole.

Our work together is to help them maneuver through the brambles of life and align again and again with who they are at their core, their best selves.

One woman who I talked with this week said that ultimately she hoped that she could learn to live in the now, accept the present moment and just be with the good, bad, comfort and discomfort. She went so far as to say that she wanted to find comfort in the discomfort.

There is such wisdom in the people I work with!

What we call good and bad, what is light and dark is all a part of our lives. We can’t even pretend to try to live without those seeming opposites. There is not some place to arrive that’s beautiful and pure any more than what we are able to find in this present moment. This moment filled with flowers blooming and wilting, flames burning and smoldering, sunrise and sunset.

Change happens in the little things that we encounter in our day-to-day while holding the big dreams strongly in our awareness.

Our work together is about finding new perspective to relate to the “what is” of our lives so that we begin to make clearer choices and our lives unfold in new more satisfying ways.

Along the way there is real healing in being seen for who we truly are.

Everyone needs many people in their lives who see them in their light. When you receive the gift of someone’s uncluttered perspective, take it in, because it’s true.

The nourishment you receive will help you rise up and keep moving forward.

The world needs you, all of you.
