Summer Wrote this Blog Post

This week I sat down in a chair on my deck to write my blog post. I was contemplating what wisdom I had to impart when I was gently nudged by a gust of warm summery air.

I looked up to see two morning doves flitting here and there, one resting just long enough to sound out a mournful call.

In the sky behind the dove was a wispy cloud. I remembered last summer when I laid down on my bench and watched the sky and thought to myself, “why not now”?

In my prone position I enjoyed gazing at the vine curling around the trellis. It seemed to be growing as I watched.

I turned my head and caught a glimpse of a coleus reaching out to a pot of flowers.

I couldn’t help but move closer to observe the glow of the coral blossoms. In the process I discovered a perfect serrated line around the edge of the coleus leaf.

In the distance, another colour called out to me. As I got closer I was dazzled by a bright orange marigold.

I returned to my chair, saturated by nature’s nourishment, to begin writing this post, when a little voice called out and small strawberry stained hands appeared from around the corner followed by another set of hands carrying fresh baked strawberry peach cobbler. Ahhh…more nourishment!

Here’s a hint of what happened next.

As for this week’s blog post, that was easy. Summer wrote it!

Here’s my wisdom. Listen carefully. You only have a short time to benefit from this knowledge.

If ever there was a time to let yourself be distracted from the task at hand, it’s during summer.

I am so impressed with the zen quality of this, and every post you share with the world.

…And your playful spirit, the cobbler looked (past tense) delicious!

    Much love,
    Blaze
